Kenneth Lee Bowyer Sr., 80, of Charlotte Court House, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019, at The Woodland Nursing Home. He was the devoted husband of Thelma Jean Clay Harris Bowyer for 16 . years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Emma Jean, and his four brothers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Lee Bowyer, Jr., and Scott Wade Bowyer, Sr.; one grandson, Scott Wade Bowyer, Jr.; and three step-daughters, Darlene Harris Smith, Bonnie Harris Fenton and Laurie Harris Foster.

Ken was born in Bedford, Virginia, December 13, 1939, a son of the late Francis Molen Bowyer, Sr., and Mary Letha Creasey Bowyer. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard with over 35 years of service and enjoyed hunting and vegetable gardening. He loved helping others and will be dearly missed by so many.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Thursday, December 19, at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Newport News, Virginia, at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
