Statesmen win wrestling tourney

Randolph-Henry High School’s (R-H) varsity wrestling team emerged from a field of 10 teams as the champion of the Cody Day Memorial Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham. Statesmen freshman Brycen Arbogast, pictured alone on left, placed first in his weight class and was named the event’s Most Outstanding Wrestler. R-H seniors Chandler Newcomb and Danny Parrish also won their respective weight classes. Statesmen senior John Toombs placed second in his weight class, and Randolph-Henry wrestlers finishing third in their respective weight classes were sophomore Shawn Copeland, senior Matt Aydlett, freshman Luke Jennings and senior Izaia Foster.
