Marion Jackson “Jack” Atkins, Sr, 91 of Charlotte Court House, VA passed away at his home on November 24, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Jack is survived by his wife of 69 years, Phyllis and a sister Louise Bowers (William). He was the proud father of four children; Jackie Atkins (Mary Lee), John Atkins (Donna), Vickie Tangerman, Connie Barksdale (Bruce). Jack had a tremendous love for his grandchildren; Ryan Atkins, Brandon Tangerman, Stephen Tangerman, Katherine Dawson, Carrie League, Kelsie Crenshaw, Morgan Bennett and Kevin Atkins. He had four great-grandchildren; Grayson Tangerman, Scarlett Dawson, Isaiah League and Bennett Tangerman.

Jack was born on October 2, 1928 in Charlotte County, VA. He was a life-time dairy farmer, working in a field on his tractor was his greatest joy in farming.

Jack was an exemplary husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He taught his family what it was to love unconditionally without pause. He had an unwavering faith in God. Anyone who met him knew how much he loved his wife Phyllis, who was his best friend. He never missed a chance to tell people how special she was to him and how much he loved his family. He considered himself to be such a blessed man to have married the love of his life and to have built a beautiful life with her.

He will be missed dearly by his family, but he will live on in all of those lucky enough to have known him. Especially those of us who were so blessed to call him husband, daddy, granddaddy and great-granddaddy.

A celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2 p.m. in Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family.
