USDA FOOD DISTRIBUTION, 10-11:45 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. This food bank is held for those in the Phenix and surrounding Red House community who are residents of Charlotte County. USDA food can only be received at one site. Bring a large cardboard box and identification. For more information, contact Bernice Pannell at (434) 248-6465 after 5 p.m. and before 8 p.m.

December 16

PASTOR’S ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Gill Hill Baptist Church. The church will celebrate Pastor Isiah Hurt’s 10th anniversary. The Rev. Charles Woolfolk of White Oak Grove Baptist in Phenix will give the word and music will be rendered by the White Oak Grove Baptist Church Mass Choir. Everyone is invited.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, 5 p.m. at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. The program will be presented by Mt.Carmel/Phenix United Methodist Church. A covered dish meal will follow the program. All are invited.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, 6 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Red House. A reception and food pantry donation will be held after the program. The church is located at 1055 Lawyers Road.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, 11 a.m. at New Witt Baptist Church. The program is titled “Melodies for Christmas.” The church is located on Farmville Highway South. The public is invited.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM/BREAKFAST, 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. Everyone is welcome.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA, 5 p.m. at Wylliesburg Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The church is located at 506 Jackson Vaughan Road.

December 31

WATCH NIGHT/CANDLELIGHT SERVICE, 10 p.m. prayer/praise service and 10:30 p.m. worship service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

February 12

BEEKEEPER’S SCHOOL, 7-9 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office across from Lowe’s in Farmville. A hands-on session is tentatively planned for a date to be announced since it is weather-dependent. Cost will include all classes and two books. Pre-registration is required.
