A celebration of the life and heavenly birthday of Anne Carrington Read Charlton Anderson will be held on November 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Hermon Presbyterian Church, 9644 Scuffletown Rd, Saxe, Virginia.
Anne was born on November 10, 1932 in Savannah, Georgia. An avid reader and gardener, she inspired a love of literature and nature in all of her children and grandchildren. She also had a passion for restoring historic homes, knitting, and southern cooking. She cared deeply about preserving the healthy survival of the Staunton River area for the enjoyment of generations to come.
Anne especially enjoyed her family and close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Thomas Jackson Charlton and Anne Carrington Read of Savannah, Georgia. She is survived by her brothers, Thomas J. Charlton and Abram Read Charlton, both of whom reside in Charlotte County.
She is also survived by her five children, Maxwell Lippitt III of Albany, New York; Thomas Lippitt of Merritt Island, Florida; Margaret Masters, of Saxe, Virginia; Anne Anderson of Keysville, Virginia; and Eric Anderson of Teaneck, New Jersey; eight grandchildren; six (soon to be 7) great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hermon Presbyterian Church.
