Randolph-Henry High School’s varsity football team returns to action this week when it travels to face Prince Edward County High School on Friday at 7 p.m.

The Statesmen (0-3) had, in a way, a welltimed bye last week given that Hurricane Florence was rearranging football schedules around the state.

The Eagles (2-2) managed to get their scheduled game in Wednesday, Sept. 12, but they might have suffered from the short amount of prep time. They fell 28-14 to host Bluestone High School, a team the Statesmen lost to 16-14 on Sept. 7.

In the preseason, Prince Edward lost its starting quarterback, senior Kahare Sutton, to a season-ending knee injury. Freshman Nate Reed has been learning that role. Powering the Eagles offense is a trio of senior running backs: J’Sean Dupuy, Rahme Marshall and Jarrel Robinson.
