Eureka Elementary School has announced a new positive behavioral program being implemented this school year. “SOAR” teaches children the meaning of self-control, ownership, act responsibly and respectful. It also gives children the tools they need to act appropriately in every specific setting from the classroom, hallway, cafeteria, bathroom and gymnasium.

The SOAR program is already in full flight at Eureka. Before entering the front door, there is a colorful banner hanging for everyone to read. Additional posters are displayed throughout the building and in every classroom. During the first week of school, all the teachers explained the SOAR expectations to the students daily. To officially kick off the start of SOAR, a pep rally was held in the gym. Meredith Reynolds got the crowd pepped up and excited about great behavior. With enthusiasm the students and staff were shouting out the “Eagle” chant. As a surprise ending, a special eagle soared in to add to the excitement.
