August 25

COMMUNITY FUN DAY, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville. Attractions will include two inflatables, cake walks, dunking booth, music, food, indoor and outdoor games, local fire and rescue vehicles and more.

FFA CAR AND TRUCK SHOW, 1-3:30 p.m. at the Central Middle School bus parking lot. Classes for the show will include best classic car, best classic truck, ugliest farm truck and spectator’s choice. The event will include food, music, door prizes, cash prizes and trophies for best vehicle.

August 26

HOMECOMING, 10:45 a.m. prayer and praise service and 11:15 a.m. worship service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Lunch will be served after morning worship.

HOMECOMING/ANNIVERSARY, 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Everyone is invited. The church is located at 4050 Salem School Road

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. Pastor James Lindsey will deliver the message and the Galilee Shining Stars will render the music. Dinner will be served.

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. The Rev. Dr. William Keen will be the proclaimer and the mission is developing kingdom builders. A different choir will provide music each night. The church is located at 4050 Salem School Road

VIDEO SERIES, 6-7 p.m. at Drakes Branch Baptist Church. Each Sunday evening a video from “That the World May Know” series will be shown. This is free and open to the public.

OPPORTUNITY FUND SKEET AND TRAP CLASSIC, 8 a.m. registration at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox. participants will shoot one round each of skeet and trap, have breakfast and lunch, win prizes and take home awards for their shooting skills. All proceeds will go to the nonprofit Southside Opportunity Fund’s scholarships for graduating high school seniors in Southside Electric Cooperative’s (SEC) service area.
