Mrs. Martha Brogden, age 88 of Charlotte Court House, died on July 21, 2018 in Lynchburg. She was the daughter of the late Rochie Jones and Nannie White Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Brogden, Sr.; two sons, Samuel Brogden, and Herman Brogden; two daughters, Alberta Brogden and Martha Goodlett; son-in-law, Robert Goodlett.

She is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Jackson (Rev. Carlton Jackson) of Brookneal, Mable Lemon (Burnett) of Richmond, and Joan Faggins (Weldon) of Charlotte Court House; three sons, Randy Brogden (Loretta) of Charlotte Court House, Alonza Brogden of Phenix, and Joel Brogden (Tammy) of Richmond; thirty grandchildren; seventy-four great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mable Carter of NY and Bessie Jones of Baltimore, MD; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; three daughters-in-law, Virginia Brogden of Woodbridge, Mildred Brogden of Charlotte Court House, and Norma Jean Brogden of Newark, DE and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 28, noon at St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House with interment in the church cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com. Arrangements were by Jeffress Funeral Home of Charlotte Court House.
