A Keysville man charged with distributing methamphetamine in Charlotte and Lunenburg counties was

sentenced to one year and five months in prison recently in Lunenburg Circuit Court for Distributing methamphetamine in Lunenburg County. He will see trial for three charges of distributing meth in Charlotte County.

Geoffrey Alan Edwards, 41, also received an additional 18 years and seven months suspended upon conditions of good behavior, supervised probation upon his release for two years, warrantless searches and restitution. This included two convictions of distribution of methamphetamine for offenses on March 6 and 13, 2017, a release from the Lunenburg County Commonwealth’s Attorney Office cited. Edwards is also facing three charges of distributing methamphetamine in Charlotte County, which are set for trial July 11. “According to Commonwealth’s Attorney Robert Clement, Special Agent J.J. Lacks and Special Officer C.W. Wallace conducted undercover purchases from Edwards in a parking lot in Meherrin with purchases of 2 grams of Meth for $170 and another purchase for $200,” the release cited. The sentencing guidelines for the two charges had a range of nine months to one year and nine months with a midpoint of one year seven months, the release cited. Clement said in the release the guidelines for Edwards on his charges in Charlotte County should be a little higher.
