Evangelist Elizabeth Freeman

On Thursday, June 21, 2018, the Lord called another one of his saints home, Evangelist Elizabeth Virginia Cabell Freeman, at Sentara Halifax Hospital. She was born on August 12, 1932 in Charlotte County to the late Jessie Cabell and Sara Jane Delerme. She was ordained as a minister in 1960 and during her ministry, she served as Assistant Pastor of Pentecostal Holiness Church, Assistant Pastor of Word of Faith, Assistant Pastor of Mission of Hope Church and Pastor of Morning Star Holiness Church where she faithfully served until her health began to fail. She loved going to church and enjoyed singing,The memories of Elizabeth will always be dear to the family and we will rejoice in knowing she has gone to a home more beautiful than any we have known.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Freeman, her brothers, George E. Cabell and Lester Delerme; sister, Ruth C. Regent; step-parents, Jeanette Cabell and Rosendo Delerme; niece, Cassandra C. Fernandez. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, four devoted children, Jesse Freeman (Elizabeth) of Woodbridge, Dorothy Davis of Saxe, Ruth F. Davis (James) of Keysville, and Virginia F. Hamlett (Paul) of Saxe, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; brother Eric Green of Drakes Branch; one aunt, Lorna Hassell; host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Celebration of Life Services were held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at the Galilee Baptist Church in Randolph, with interment in Freeman’s Shady Grove Cemetery.
