George Russell Ferrell

On Sunday, May 13, 2018, George Russell Ferrell peacefully answered God’s call to come home. Russell was born on May 15, 1962 to George and Mary Ferrell. Russell left Charlotte County in the 80’s and joined the United States Army and served as a military policeman, customs inspector, and military police investigator. He also completed 24 years of service with the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Service where he worked as a Law Enforcement Security Officer. He retired after serving 32 years. Russell was a fun and loving person who truly loved his family. He was preceded in death by his father, George E, Ferrell.

Russell leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving mother, Mrs. Mary C. Ferrell of Keysville, VA; brother, Michael Ferrell, Meherrin, VA; sisters, Elsie Bailey and Rosa Friend, Drakes Branch, VA; Darlean Walton, Phenix, VA, Christella Barnes (Douglass), Savannah, GA, Stephanie and Jennifer Cheatham, Randolph, VA; son, Harry Perez and daughter, Michelle Perez both of Puerto Rico; granddaughter, Grace Marie Perez and grandsons, Enrique and Edwin Nieves, all of Puerto Rico; grandmother, Mrs. Virginia Spencer, Charlotte C.H., VA; Godmother, Mrs. Marie Freeman, Randolph, VA; God Brothers, Donald and Royal Freeman, Randolph, VA; devoted friends, Ada Malave and Myriam Reyes both of Puerto Rico; numerous aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces,nephews, and friends.

Celebration of Life Service was held noon Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Gethsemane Presbyterian Church in Drakes Branch. Online condolences may be expressed at www.dupeefuneralhome.com. Services of comfort were provided by Dupee’s Funeral Home of Drakes Branch, VA.
