Senior banquet held

Randolph-Henry High School students enjoyed their 2018 Senior Banquet recently at the Central Middle School Cafeteria.

Senior sponsors planned the event and this year’s theme was “Our Year to Shine.” Over $37,000 in scholarships were presented to students during the event by community members and organizations.

David Earl Lucado, III is presented a Randolph-Henry Theatre and Forensics Scholarship by Larry Jennings.

This year’s recipients included Annie Sandridge, Keysville Ruritan Club Scholarship; Annie Sandridge and Jesse “Hunter” Sanderson, DARE Scholarships; Chelsey Aliff, Barksdale Cancer Foundation Scholarship; Tykeria Banks, Serena Barton, Anna Grace Cary, Mitchell Davis, Jackson Harding, Kierra Jones, Evan Mason, Elijah Moore, Hannah Pasciuta, Anna Pasciuta, Carter Strickland and Braden Williams, Randolph-Henry Athletic Booster Club Scholarships; Carlicia Anderson, Charity Walton and Kierra Jones, NAACP Scholarships; Kierra Jones and Mitchell Davis, Southside Opportunity Fund Scholarships; Jesse “Hunter” Sanderson, Worth M. Hudson Scholarship; Hallie Watson, Van Allen Lee Scholarship; Annie Sandridge, Jane C. Holt Scholarship; Abigail Michaelson, Alexa Moore, Jesse Hunter Sanderson and Annie Sandridge, Priddy Scholarships; Jackson Harding and Jordan Jones, Colton B. Osborne Baseball Scholarships; David Earl Lucado III, Randolph-Henry Theatre and Forensics Scholarship; Mitchell Davis, Helen Wall Thiele and Arthur L. Thiele Scholarship; Carlicia Anderson, Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship; Sarah Grissom, Charlotte County Education Scholarship; Jesse Hunter Sanderson, Robert C. Moates Educational Scholarship; Nichole Henry, Southside School of Dance Scholarship; Anna Pasciuta and Kierra Jones, Barksdale Scholarships; Jesse Hunter Sanderson and Sarah Grissom, Randolph-Henry Foundation Scholarships; Jayland Redd, Pinky Bates Scholarship; Sarah Grissom, Shirley M. Graves Scholarship; Annie Sandridge, The Spirit of a Statesman Scholarship; Nasheim Pettus, Senior of the Year Award (plaque awarded, not scholarship) and certificates were given in recognition of Governor’s Schools Students.

Randolph-Henry Foundation Scholarships were also awarded to Mitchell Davis, Valedictorian and Abigail Michaelson, Salutatorian.

Graduation ceremonies for the Randolph-Henry High School Class of 2018 were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Central Middle School Gymnasium.
