Inspired by a suggestion from Charlotte County Retired Teachers, little community “libraries” are being constructed and placed throughout the county. Sandy Flynn has headed up the construction and placement of several smaller libraries. Because two communities are more distant from local county branch libraries, the county supervisors for Saxe and Madisonville/Red House areas asked county employees to construct larger structures. These have been placed at the convenience centers for Saxe and Madisonville/Red House. The informal “libraries” are stocked with donated books and with instructions to “take a book and leave a book.” Pictured is the little library in the Madisonville/Red House area.
