William Marshall, Sr. known as “Papa Joe”, age 85, formerly of Lunenburg County peacefully departed this life on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 in Maryland. He was born on August 20, 1932 to the late Mary Marshall Ames.

William had a BIG heart, he gave abundantly, and helped anyone he could. He leaves to cherish his memory, 17 children; 38 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. He had one half brother, Lynwood Cheatham (deceased); three wives, Ester Bragg (deceased), Christine Smith and Ruth Hawkins;  special friend, Joe Cheryl; best friend, Clarence Streat; nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Funeral Services were held 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Keysville, Virginia with interment in the church cemetery.
