Congratulations to Jamal and Jennifer Wilborn Williams, Raleigh N.C., on the birth of their new baby girl Samiya Marie Williams. She was born Oct. 4, and weighed seven pounds and was 14 inches long. Grandparents are Joseph and Joanne Wilborn of Saxe and Lidia Williams of Charlotte Court House.

Get well wishes to all of the sick and shut in. I hope all of you are well soon, up and about. You are in our prayers and thoughts.

Sympathy to all of you who have lost a loved one recently. Our heartfelt prayers and good wishes go out to all of you in your time of need. You have our deepest sympathy.

HUMOR

Good humor is the health of the soul. Sadness is the soul’s poison. Courtesy and good humor are often found with little real worth. There is more logic in humor than in anything else, because you see, humor is truth.

Nothing is better than the unintended humor of reality. Above all things, and at all times, practice yourself in good humor. Love is my sword, goodness my armor and humor my shield.

The Singing Stars Gospel Singers from Saxe will be celebrating their 27th anniversary Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. at Central Middle School in Charlotte Court House. Participating groups include the Golden Stars, of Gretna, Freeman family of Gretna, Patrick family of Gretna, Blessed Few of Charlotte Court House, Lamations Gospel Singers of Farmville, Gospel Jublee and others. Everyone is welcome to come. There will be a $5 donation at the door. Prizes will be given away.
