October 5

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY, 6 p.m. at Morrison Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. All women are invited.

October 7

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. Nine women will speak on the topic. All are invited.

GOSPEL CONCERT, 5 p.m. at Moton Museum in Farmville. The event is free and open to the public, featuring Farmville’s Bridget Carrington. For more information, call (434) 392-5599.

CB SWAP MEET AND JAMBOREE, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Phenix Pavilion. Chicken Stew, baked goods and drinks will be sold. Stew will be ready between 10-11 a.m. James Tuck will be the stewmaster. October 8

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel UMC. Preacher Mike Teixeira will deliver the message. Special music will be provided by “Worm and Bud” and Sheila Schaefer. Lunch will be served immediately following the service.

MALE CHORUS ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at New Witt Baptist Church. Guest musical group will be the Peaks Male Chorus of Prospect. New Witt is located on Meherrin Road. The public is invited.

REVIVAL, 10 a.m.-noon at Salem Christian Church in Chase City. The Rev. Mike Duffer will be the speaker and music will be provided by Sandy Creek Band. Lunch will follow the service. Everyone is welcome.

GUEST PREACHER, 11 a.m. at New Witt Baptist Church. The Rev. Malvin Eanes will lead service. All are invited.

DECORATION SERVICE, 11 a.m. at Scott Cemetery in Saxe.

FALL CARNIVAL, 2-5 p.m. at Community Gospel Church, 4356 Crab Orchard Road in Keysville. The event will feature games, pumpkins, prizes and more.

HOMECOMING, at Keysville Evangelical Methodist Church. Special singing will be provided by James Hazelwood and Carolyn Martin. Lunch will be served. Everyone is invited.

October 12

GREEN BAY NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH MEETING, 6:30 p.m. at Sharon Baptist Church. A meal will be served for a donation of $5. Everyone is invited. 

COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE, 1-6 p.m. at the Drakes Branch Municipal Building. To make your appointment, call Jeris Wells at (434) 568-3090. The Drakes Branch Municpal Building is located at 4818 N. Main St.

October 14

PRAISE FEST, 3 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. This event is sponsored by the Shiloh Praise Ensemble. Pastor Keith Carter of Victory Temple Community Church and his choir will be the special guests for the afternoon. All are invited.

ANNUAL BLUEGRASS BENEFIT, noon-11 p.m. at Philbeck’s Community Music House. Supper will be served at 5 p.m. Stewmaster for the occasion will be Heavy Duty. PASTOR’S ANNIVERSARY, 4 p.m. at Aspen Hill Baptist Church in Brookneal. The preacher for the occasion will be the Rev. James Holcomb, pastor of the Beautiful Plains Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. He will be accompanied with his choir, ushers and church family. Repast will be served after the service. Come and be blessed. 

137th ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at St. Louis Baptist Church. The Rev. Lewis Watson of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House will be the guest speaker. His choir will render the music. Everyone is invited. Food will be served after the service.

October 16

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL, 7 p.m. at Lunenburg County Courthouse Lawn. Tri-County Community Action Agency Inc. will host a candlelight vigil to bring awareness to domestic violence in the community.

October 16-17

COW BREEDING TRAINING COURSE, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the BARN facility in Buckingham. Cost is $65 per person. The BARN facility is located at 11851 W. James Anderson Highway.

October 26-27
