UDC meeting held

The July meeting of the Lunenburg Chapter 1654, United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC), was held at the home of member Yvonne Moore in Kenbridge recently.
According to a press release, the meeting was led by President Esther Hudson.
“Normal business was conducted and officers were elected for the 2017-19 term to be installed in August and take office Sept. 1, 2017.”
“A special certificate of Honorary Membership in the Lunenburg Chapter was presented to Patt Graves by chapter officer Anne Gaulding,” according to the press release.
“An outstanding program was conducted by Ron Graves, commander of the Charlotte County Grays 1964, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and Stanley Foster, treasurer of the Charlotte County Grays 1964, SCV. They presented the history of the Confederate flags and showed and explained the equipment of the Confederate soldier. The group enjoyed delicious homemade dessert provided by the hostess.
