August 17

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY, 6 p.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. Bible study is open to all women.

August 19

PLAY, 3 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. “The Old Ship of Zionew,” directed by Juanita Cross, is presented by the Shiloh Baptist Church Missionary Society. Light refreshments will be served.

USDA FOOD DISTRIBUTION, 10 a.m.-noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. Food may only be received at one USDA site in Virginia. Distribution is for the Phenix and surrounding Red House Community. Please bring a large cardboard box.

CAR WASH, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the parking lot next to Polar Express Ice Cream Shop in Keysville. Donations will support the Randolph-Henry Marching Band.

August 20

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney will preach the morning service. There will be no afternoon service. 

WOMEN’S MINISTRY PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville. All are invited.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Gill Hill Baptist Church in Keysville. The Faithful Gospel Singers and the Bells of Harmony will provide entertainment for the afternoon. Everyone is invited. Gill Hill is located at 1427 County Line Road.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Drakes Branch. The Rev. Justin Hicks will be preaching and special music will be provided by Papa’s Angels. A covered dish lunch will follow the service. Lebanon is located at 11135 Crafton’s Gate Highway.

HOMECOMING, 11:30 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Pastor Isiah Hurt will give the word and the Mt. Mitchell Baptist Choir will provide the music for the program. A meal will be served. All are invited.

August 26

FFA CAR AND TRUCK SHOW, 1-3:30 p.m. at Central Middle School Bus Court. Car entry fee is $20 and general admission is $5. Classes will include best classic car, best classic truck, ugliest farm truck and spectators choice. Music will be provided by The Prodigal Son. 

August 27

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Pastor Roger Lee Allen will bring the word.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Phenix. Sunday School will meet at 10 a.m. Myron Boone will be the speaker. A covered dish lunch will be served after the service.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. The Rev. Henry L. Fleshman Jr. will deliver the message.

August 28-30

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Associate Ministers Carolyn Pearson, Angela Cook and Loretta Bailey will bring the word.

August 28- September 1

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. There will be different choirs each night. Everyone is welcome.

September 9

WOMEN’S ANNUAL TEA, 2-4 p.m. at Morrison Grove Baptist Church. All women are invited. Bring your favorite tea cup. This event is sponsored by the women’s empowerment bible study.

September 15

POW-MIA DAY, 11 a.m. at the Charlotte County Administration Building lawn. This event is hosted by the Charlotte County VFW Post 8902. Guest speaker will be Greg Eanes.

September 30

BENEFIT RIDE, 9:30 a.m. at the Drakes Branch Pavilion. Southside Buffalo Soldiers will sponsor this ride for fallen Buffalo Soldier George Roberts. Cost is $15 per rider and $5 per passenger. Proceeds will assist with son Jacoby Roberts. For more information, call (804) 665-8860.
