Truck driver training will be taught beginning July 24 at the South Boston site of Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC).

“Classes will run through Aug. 31 and successful students will receive their Commercial Driver’s License and the chance at a rewarding career,” officials said in a press release.

SVCC’s next session will run Mondays-Thursdays from 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. in South Boston. “Students must be 18 years of age and possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Students must also have a copy of their driving record, a department of transportation physical exam, drug test and agree to future testing during the course and a CDL-A learner’s permit.
