Deadline set to report planted acres

Producers are urged to call now to set up their time to report their planted acres.

According to a Farm Service Agency (FSA) press release, in order to remain in compliance with FSA program eligibility requirements and to meet crop insurance requirements, farmers must file an accurate crop certification report by the applicable deadline.

For farmes in  Southside Virginia, the deadline is July 15.

“This time of year is extremely busy for the FSA office. In order to avoid long waits and possible late file fees, call today to set up a time to report. If you have not finished planting, you can report what you already have planted, and then again when you finish. If you would like a copy of your FSA maps, please contact the office.”

If you have crop insurance, report timely so you can review your report for accuracy before submitting your producer print to your insurance agent.

Call the Charlotte/Lunenburg County FSA Office to select a convenient time to report at (434) 542-5121, ext 2.
