June 19-23

REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. prayer service and 8 p.m. worship service at Galilee Baptist Church. The Rev. Lawrence T. Wilkerson Sr., pastor of Bluestone Baptist Church, will be the speaker for the week.

June 21-23

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at Roanoke Baptist Church. The Rev. Lloyd Westley, Pastor of Mt. Ellis Baptist Church in Keysville, will deliver the message. A guest choir will render the music each night. All are invited.

June 23

FISH FRY, 6:30 p.m. at the Red House Fire Department. All-you-can-eat fish is served with French fries, slaw, hush puppies, dessert and beverage for $10.

June 23-24

BATTLE OF STAUNTON RIVER BRIDGE ANNIVERSARY, at Staunton River Battlefield State Park. The Historic Staunton River Foundation will commemorate the 153rd anniversary of the battle in Halifax and Charlotte. A variety of events have been planned. All events are free and open to the public. Friday evening/night’s activities will begin at Fort Hill, 1035 Fort Hill Tr. in Randolph.

June 24

CENTRAL HIGH MUSEUM CELEBRATION, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Central High Museum. The community is invited to come and support the event.

TASTE A STATE, 3 p.m. at Mayflower Baptist Church in Victoria. To purchase a ticket, contact Ethel Gunter at (434) 676-4694.

June 25

HOMECOMING, 11:30 a.m. at Briery Presbyterian Church. Dr. Joseph Parker, former pastor of Briery Church, will lead the worship service along with Pastor Joe McCutchen. A covered-dish luncheon will immediately follow the service. Friends and former members are invited. A short meeting of the cemetery association will follow lunch.

MISSIONARY DAY, 3 p.m. at Aspen Hill Baptist Church in Brookneal. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Lloyd Wesley, pastor of the Mt. Ellis Baptist Church in Keysville. He will be accompanied by his choir. A repast will be served following the service. All are invited.

CHOIR ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Mossingford Baptist Church. The young adult choir will be celebrating its anniversary. Everyone is cordially invited.

June 27-29

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. prayer and praise and 7:30 p.m. worship service at Shiloh Baptist Church. The Rev. Alfred Chandler, pastor of St. Matthews Baptist Church, will be the guest minister. Guest choirs will be in attendance each night. All are invited.

June 30

ANNUAL REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at St. Douglas Baptist Church, 151 Nelson Lane. There will be different preachers each night. All are welcome. Pastor is the Rev. Wendell Brown.

ANNUAL REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. at Lone Oak Baptist Church. Different choirs will render spiritual songs each night. The Rev. Isaiah Hurt, of Keysville, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist and Gill Hill Baptist, will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome to come and worship with us.

July 2

HOMECOMING SERVICE, 11:30 a.m. at St. Douglas Baptist Church, 151 Nelson Lane. Pastor Rev. Wendell Brown will bring the morning message. Dinner will be served. All are welcome.

July 4

QUILT RAFFLE, sponsored by Charlotte County Meals on wheels. Drawing will be held July 4. A hand-quilted throw (42 inches by 57 inches) made by South Central Parish Quilters will be on a rotating display at county libraries, banks and Sheldon’s. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased from Denise at the library, from the Charlotte County Meals on Wheels office at (434) 736-8441 or any board member.

STEW, 11 a.m. at The Eureka Community Center, 4757 George Washington Hwy. in Keysville. Beef, chicken, Brunswick and sheep will be available. Cost is $6.50 per quart. Cakes, pies, desserts and drinks will also be available for sale. Proceeds will benefit the community center.
