Mrs. Charmie Wilson Bruce of Cullen, Virginia, peacefully returned to her maker on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1926 to the late James and Rosa Wilson. Charmie was married to Thomas H. Bruce, who preceded her death on January 31, 1986. Two daughters, Mary Alethia Richardson and Josephine Nesby, also preceded her in death. Charmie loved attending her church, St. Andrews Baptist and after declining health, she enjoyed receiving bulletins and being informed of church activities.

Charmie leaves to mourn, yet cherish her memories; three daughters, Jean Rich of Landover, MD, Patricia Reid of Temple Hills, MD and Veronica Miles of Cullen, VA; a devoted granddaughter, Katrina Reid; two sons-in-laws, James Miles and Joe Nesby; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Naomi Holland, Ruth Holcomb (James), and Mary A. Wilson (George); sisters-in-law, Mary Wilson, Carolyn Wilson and Mattie Wilson; Godchildren, Brenda Brown and Cedric Edmonds; foster sister and brother, Carolyn Snead and Nathaniel Snead; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

Funeral Services were held 12:00 Noon Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen, Virginia, with interment in the church cemetery.
