YOUTH/SPRING REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville. The Rev. John Craighead, pastor of Mossingford Baptist Church, will be the guest proclaimer for the week. Guest choirs each night. Everyone is invited.

APRIL 22

BENEFIT MOTORCYCLE RIDE, 9 a.m. to benefit the Burkeville Lodge for the Blind. Registration is at 9 a.m. at the Burkeville Lodge, 341 Oak St., Burkeville. Ride begins at 10 a.m. Day includes a 145-mile scenic ride to Lovingston lunch at the Burkeville Lodge and drawings. Route details will be handed out the morning of the ride. CHICKEN SUPPER, 5 p.m. at Salem Christian. The menu will include chicken, assorted vegetables and desserts. Cost is $8 per plate for adults and $5 for children under 7.

PASTOR’S ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Mt. Ellis Baptist Church in Keysville. The Rev. Dr. Maurice Finney, pastor of Aspen Hill and St. Andrews Baptist Church, will deliver the message. He will be accompanied by his choir. Everyone is invited. The church is located at 8409 George Washington Hwy.

GOSPEL EXPLOSION, 3 p.m. at the People’s Community Center in Victoria. Everyone is invited. This event is sponsored by the Lunenburg County Branch of the NAACP.

FREE DIAPERS, 10 a.m.-noon at Drakes Branch Baptist Church. A four-day supply of diapers will be supplied for children birth to age 2. Recipients must be residents of Charlotte County.

APRIL 23

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 11 a.m. at Gill Hill Baptist Church in Keysville. The speaker for the morning will be the Rev. Barbra Reed, of Meherrin. Music will be rendered by a guest choir. Everyone is welcome. Dinner will be served afterwards. Gill Hill is located at 1427 County Line Road.

WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION, 3 p.m. at New Witt Baptist Church in Farmville. The guest minister will be Apostle Melony Riles of Powerful Praise Impact Ministries of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE, 8:30 a.m. at the Moton Museum, 900 Griffin Blvd. in Farmville. Guest preacher will be Sybil Jones, of Sharon Baptist Church in Cumberland. Music will be rendered by the The Alumni Choir under the direction of Brother Anthony Tucker. The event is free and open to the public. DENIM DAY, Tri-County Community Action Agency Inc. would appreciate your help and support during the month of April. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Join the agency and stand up for an end to sexual violence by wearing jeans on Denim Day.

APRIL 27

CANNING WORKSHOP, 6-8 p.m. at the Southern Piedmont AREC in Blackstone. Class topics will include the science of canning, canning recipes, storage of canned goods and how to can with a pressure, hot water bath and steam canners. USED BOOK SALE, 9 a.m.-noon behind the Charlotte Court House Library. This event is sponsored by the Charlotte County Friends of the Library. All proceeds will support the public libraries of Charlotte County.

BARBECUE SUPPER, 4-7 p.m. at Red Oak Excavating. This event is sponsored by Friends for a Cure Relay Team. Tickets are $10 and include barbecue, Cole slaw, baked beans, roll, drink and dessert of your choice. There will be raffle items as well. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Tickets are available at the door or by calling Teresa at (434) 470-1955.

APRIL 30

WOMEN’S DAY, 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Guest proclaimer will be Dr. Cathy Sauls from Raleigh, North Carolina. All ladies are asked to wear white.

USHER’S ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Gethsemane Presbyterian in Drakes Branch. Music will be rendered by Rodney Scott, of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. Everyone is invited.

MAY 1

SOIL AND WATER SCHOLARSHIP, deadline is May 1 to turn in applications to Southside Soil and Water Conservation District in Charlotte Court House. Interested students must attend school in Charlotte or Lunenburg counties and be enrolled as a full-time student or have applied and been accepted to a two-year or four-year college. MAY 4

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER BREAKFAST, 6 a.m. at Red Oak Excavating. The Red Oak Community National Day of Prayer Breakfast will include special music, prayer, a presentation of flags and more.

MAY 6

PAMPLIN BARN DANCE, 6-8 p.m. at the Pamplin Train Depot. The event is free and family friendly.

MAY 13

CATFISH TOURNAMENT, 5:30 p.m. registration time at Staunton River State Park Picnic Shelter No. 2. The captains meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the fishing kickoff at 7 p.m. All fishing will conclude at 2 a.m. This event is sponsored by the Halifax Volunteer Fire Department. The event will include food, drinks, T-shirts, prizes and raffles.

MAY 23

PASTOR’S ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Mossingford Baptist Church. The Rev. James Taylor, pastor of Jericho Baptist Church in Farmville, will be the speaker. His choir will render the music. Dinner will be served after the service.
