Cook graduates from basic training

U.S. Air Force Airman Alicia R. Cook recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.

Cook completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Cook earned distinction as an honor graduate.

Cook is the daughter of James Cook and Carmalita Escoto, of Charlotte Court House, sister of Angela Brown, of Richmond, granddaughter of Nancy Walker, of Red Oak, and Early Cook, of Charlotte Court House, and niece of Sharon Walker, of Red Oak, and Angela Cook, of Charlotte Court House.

After graduating from Randolph-Henry, she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2016 from Virginia Commonwealth University.
