Keysville Volunteer Fire Department members responded to a fire at a utility pole at Ontario Hardwood near Keysville off of Route 15 at approximately 2:25 p.m. Friday. “The box that supplied the (electricity) to the pole caught the pole on fire,” said Lynn Duffey, Keysville Volunteer Fire Department chief. The pole, which caught fire, resulting in a small brush fire at the base of the pole, is located on West Ontario Road directly across from the business. According to Duffey, Dominion Power responded to the scene, along with volunteer firefighters.
