Four businesses in Charlotte County saw customers display counterfeit money within a two-day timeframe last week, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
Subway, Dollar General, Burger King and Red Bird Mini Mart were presented counterfeit $20 bills between Tuesday, Jan. 31 to Wednesday, Feb. 1.
A Red Bird cashier didn’t accept the fake bill; the other three businesses did accept the bills, according to the sheriff’s office.
The businesses are located in the Keysville area.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and authorities don’t have any suspects at this time.
