During the evening of Thursday, January 19, 2017, God dispatched His heavenly angel and escorted Nannie Venable Morton, of Randolph, into eternal rest. She was born on May 16, 1932 to the late Samuel and Ethel Drew Venable in Saxe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Morton, brothers, Alfred, George, William and Samuel Venable and sister-in-law, Virginia Venable.

Nannie leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted son, Curtis C. Morton of Greensboro, NC; sister, Delia V. West of Montclair, NJ; sisters-in-law, Cynthia LaJune Morton of Lynchburg, Lillie Venable of Richmond, and Elizabeth Venable of Union, NJ; brothers-in-law, Cornell and Samuel Morton both of Lynchburg; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 24 at Galilee Baptist Church in Randolph with interment in the church cemetery.
