Randolph-Henry High School’s junior varsity girls basketball team has played a taxing schedule of four games in seven days, falling in each contest, but showing strength defensively before the fatigue set in.

Despite a 43-27 road loss to Goochland High School on Jan. 17, the Lady Statesmen experienced success employing a 3-2 zone defense and a man-to-man defense.

Randolph-Henry suffered from tired legs in a 61-23 home loss to Amelia County High School on Jan. 18 and a 46-10 home loss to Cumberland High School on Friday.

The elite Nottoway High School dealt the Lady Statesmen a 54-6 home loss Monday.

Randolph-Henry Head Coach D.J. Jack said his team must keep opponents off the boards and begin shooting better to have a better shot at winning games.

The Lady Statesmen visit Gretna High School on Wednesday, with tipoff set for 7 p.m.
