Southside Virginia native Jordan Miles has been named managing editor of Farmville Newsmedia LLC.

Miles, who previously served in the role, will lead editorial operations for The Charlotte Gazette, The Kenbridge-Victoria Dispatch, The Farmville Herald, Farmville the Magazine and other print and digital products.

Before joining The Herald in 2013, he worked as news reporter and anchor for WFLO Radio in Farmville, covering Charlotte County.

Miles previously served in the capacity as managing editor for about one year, stepping back to senior staff writer.

“It’s time for me to serve the readers of our publications in a new capacity,” said Miles, a Buckingham County High School graduate, who obtained a degree in History from Longwood University in 2010.

“I’ve seen a great deal of change here since 2015, but it definitely has been for the better,” Miles said. “I’m indebted to the leaders who’ve come before me, and I look forward to working with the great, salt-of-the-earth people of the Heart of Virginia.”

Miles serves as senior warden and Eucharistic Minister at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Buckingham, where he enjoys working on his grandmother’s farm.
