James Henry ‘Bee’ Whirley Sr.

James Henry “Bee” Whirley Sr., 78, of Keysville, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward M. and Rosa Mae Whirley, and his sister, Dorothy W. Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frieda T. Whirley of the home; daughter, Carolyn W. Rhodes-Burnett (Lee) of Virginia Beach; and a son, James H. “Jimmy” Whirley Jr. (Toni) of Charlotte CH. Bee loved his seven grandchildren, Kyle James and Sam B. Rhodes of Powathan, Tyler Lauren, Brandon Michael, Dylan Cole, Avry Bryant, and Emry Bee Whirley all of Charlotte CH; a brother, Marvin E. Whirley (Josephine) of Keysville; and many nieces and nephews.
Bee was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Drakes Branch, where he served as a Deacon. He has been the owner and operator of Whirley’s Service and Towing in Keysville for forty-nine years serving the public. He was well known by many far and wide.
A funeral service was held at Tuesday, January 10 at Friendship Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, with interment in the church cemetery next to his parents.
The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, in Keysville, was in charge of the arrangements.
