Former educators, board members, administrators and community leaders met Nov. 28 for a special reorganization meeting at the David Bruce Building in Charlotte Court House. The meeting resulted in the revival of the Charlotte County Education Foundation.

“Members brought enthusiasm and great ideas,” Charlotte County Public Schools Grant Writer Vege Pack said.

The State Corporation Commission recently approved the foundation as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. According to Pak, members unanimously agreed the focus of the foundation will be to raise funds to directly benefit students.

The foundation’s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m., also in the David Bruce Building and will include election of officers, setting of committees and fund-raising events.
