A Charlotte Court House crash claimed the life of a 24-year-old Petersburg woman Sunday afternoon.

According to Virginia State Police (VSP), Nicole Alexandra Harris was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla north on Thomas Jefferson Highway about 1 mile south of Taro Road when she lost control at approximately 8 p.m.

The vehicle ran off the left side of the road, struck several trees and overturned, according to the VSP. 

Harris was ejected and died at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Virginia State Trooper J.D. Gregory was the investigating officer.
