The lights of Christmas

The Christmas spirit filled the streets of Keysville on Friday evening as friends of all ages enjoyed the sights and sounds of the annual Keysville Christmas Parade, sponsored by local merchants and supported by town council.

The following is the list of band, float and vehicle winners for this year’s parade:

• Band — 1st Place, Central High School; 2nd Place, Randolph-Henry High School

• Business Float — Drs. Mike Campbell and Billy Rutherford & SB Cox Company

• Civic Float — 1st Place, Ginger’s Angels Relay for Life; 2nd Place, Charlotte County Special Olympics, 3rd Place, Charlotte County Grays Camp 1964/Sons of Confederate Veterans

• Emergency Vehicles — 1st Place, Charlotte County Rescue Squad; 2nd Place, Darlington Heights Volunteer Fire Department; 3rd Place, Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad

• Equine Division — 1st Place, Old Oak Farm

• Marching Units — 1st Place, Central Middle School Cheerleaders; 2nd Place, Charlotte County Patriot J.V. & Varsity Cheerleaders; 3rd Place, Charlotte County Minor Cheerleaders

• Religious Float — 1st Place, Keysville United Methodist Church; 2nd Place, Ash Camp Baptist Church Preschool; 3rd Place, Emmanuel Baptist Church

• School Float — 1st Place, Eureka Elementary School; 2nd Place, Phenix Elementary School; 3rd Place, Bacon District Elementary School

• Show Vehicles — 1st Place, Jack and Kary Reynolds; 2nd Place, Derrick Napier; 3rd Place, Larry Fannon
