BLOOD DRIVE, 1-6 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Red Oak, 6700 Barnesville Hwy.

DECEMBER 10

SOJOURNER’S RELAY FOR LIFE BINGO, 2 p.m. at the Phenix Volunteer Fire Department. Door opens at noon. The event will include bingo, vendors, food and prizes. DECEMBER 11

GOSPEL CONCERT, 4 p.m. at Phenix United Methodist Church. The Sandy Creek Gospel Bluegrass will be in concert. There will be light refreshments following the program.  All are invited.

DECEMBER 14

CASHOLA NIGHT, 4:30-8 p.m. at Pino’s in Keysville to benefit the Charlotte County Meals on Wheels. Take out orders are counted as well.

DECEMBER 17

ORDINATION SERVICE, 3 p.m. for Minister Loretta Bailey and Minister Angela Cook at Salem Baptist Church, Red Oak.

JANUARY 15

COAT DRIVE, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mt. Ellis Baptist Church in Keysville. The drive is sponsored by The Kappa Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. The community is requested to donate new and used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and other winter items for children and adults. The drive will run from now until January 15.

FEBRUARY 7

BEEKEEPING COURSE, 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Prince Edward Extension Office. This course is specifically designed for those who intend to start honeybee colonies. Material covered will include: the history of honeybees, bee life cycle, seasonal management, equipment and supplies needed, integrated and sustainable management techniques, as well as hands on session for establishing new colonies. Tuition of $100 per family unit includes three textbooks, course notebook and CD with presentation summaries, additional resources, and one year’s membership in your local beekeeping club.
