“’Twas a week before Christmas when all through the town, the children were excited, never to be calmed down. Parents were busy readying gifts and home, so they dropped off the children at Twin Lakes for some time alone. The children were treated to games, stories and crafts. While mom and dad finished their shopping without any gaffs.”

Park rangers from Twin Lakes and High Bridge Trail State parks will offer games, crafts, stories and snacks for children ages 5 and up in an effort to let parents finish their holiday shopping. The event is from noon-5 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Twin Lakes State Park-Cedar Crest Conference Center. Children are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday PJs and bring a blanket.

The event is free, but pre-registration is required by Dec. 14. Space is limited; register by calling Twin Lakes State Park at (434) 392-3435.
