Post Office closed for Thanksgiving

All Charlotte County post offices will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving.

There will be no mail delivery, caller service or post office box service. Deliveries will be limited to Priority Express Mail in major metropolitan areas on Thursday. Normal delivery and collection schedules will resume Friday.

Customers can purchase stamps, mail packages and use other products and services at self-service kiosks at select post offices. The kiosk accepts credit or debit cards only and can handle about 80 percent of typical postal transactions, such as weighing packages and dispensing postage for Priority Express, Priority, First-Class and Standard Post mail. Self-service kiosks are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In addition, many services available at the post office are available online at www.usps.com. Customers can buy stamps, use Click-N-Ship to print their own mailing labels, pay for postage and confirm delivery. They can even request a package pick up at their home or office at no extra charge.

To obtain the phone number of a specific post office, customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS.
