Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Donald Lacks said officers in New Jersey arrested Dylan James Richardson, 24, and Jacqueline McKenna, 51, in connection with the abduction of Annabelle Doretha Hope Richardson.

Virginia State Police (VSP) issued an Amber Alert around 5 p.m. Nov. 7, treating the situation as a child abduction case after Dylan Richardson allegedly abducted Annabelle. They had been last seen in a 1995 burgundy Chevy van on Thomas Jefferson Hwy. in Charlotte County and thought to be traveling to New Jersey.

Lacks said McKenna drove Annabelle and her father to New Jersey. The VSP cancelled the Amber Alert around 6 a.m. the next day, after New Jersey authorities located and arrested Dylan Richardson and McKenna.

Tuesday, deputies said Dylan Richardson and McKenna, both of Charlotte County, are still being extradited from New Jersey.

Annabelle is under Department of Social Services care in Virginia.
