Dear Editor,

Thanks for all the support and donations that were given at the fundraiser benefit for me in Phenix to help with my heart medical expenses. Thanks to the Midway Baptist Church community and family and friends that helped sponsor and promote this event.

Little did I know that within three weeks, I would be admitted to the hospital until a heart was available. The wait for the transplant could have been months, but I was blessed to receive a heart in four days. I am now recovering and doing well.

Thanks also for all the cards, phone calls, visits and other acts of kindness shown. I also appreciate all your concern, thoughts and prayers throughout this entire ordeal. I truly believe that I have been given a new chance at life and received a miracle from God.
