The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) continues to investigate a breaking and entering case where three men broke into a Keysville store on Nov. 2 and stole 21 long- and handguns. The break-in took place at Rebel Sporting Goods on Main Street in Keysville.

According to CCSO Maj. Donald Lacks, video surveillance captured the three men using a baseball bat to break a window in order to enter the store a little after 2:30 a.m. Nov. 2.

“The alarm went out at 2:37 a.m.,” Lacks said. “They were in there for just a few minutes.”

He said investigators have not been able to identify the men despite being on camera because they were “all covered up.”

Lacks described the robbery as a “smash and grab.”

“They stole a variety of guns — a few long guns and the rest were handguns,” he said.

Lacks said anyone with information about the burglary should contact the CCSO at (434) 542-5141.
