Demarco Andrews, of Charlotte Court House, is being held without bond at the Charlotte County Jail after being accused of assaulting a family member.

“The victim took out the charges herself with the magistrate,” Charlotte County Sheriff Thomas Jones said.

Andrews is charged with two counts each of destruction of property and assault and battery of a family member; and one count each of strangling another causing injury, abduction/kidnapping and forcible sodomy.

Jones said one each of the destruction and assault and battery of a family member are connected to an incident on Oct. 23. The remaining charges stem from an Oct. 28 incident, he said.

Andrews’ case was not listed in online court databases as of Tuesday afternoon.
