Twin Lakes offer weekend events for community

Twin Lakes State Park will hold several events for the community over the weekend.

On Friday, “Backyard Bass” will be held from 4-5 p.m. The program will teach participants about fishing. The program will be followed by a welcome campfire at 7 p.m.

The park will hold a Turtle Trek on Saturday at 11 a.m., then Fishing 101 at 1 p.m.. At 2 p.m., the park will hold a “Wild Edibles” program, which will be followed by afternoon canoe trips at 4 p.m. and Saturday Night Adventures at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday Night Adventures will include hikes, campfires, stargazing and bat spotting around the park.

On Sunday, the park will hold a “Good Morning Twin Lakes” program at 9 a.m.

A Skin and Bones program will be held at 11 a.m. and a “Makin’ Tracks” event will be held at 2 p.m.

Skin and Bones will teach participants about animals that call Twin Lakes home. “Makin’ Tracks” will show participants how to identify animal tracks and show how they may look different in hard rain, snow and mud.
