Dear Editor,

The Barksdale Cancer Foundation would like to extend thanks to all who helped make its eighth annual poker run the success it was. It was a hot day, but a number of bikers and classic car enthusiasts braved the heat to help raise money for cancer patients right here in Charlotte County.

We would like to thank all the sponsors of our event, who make it possible to generate more profit by absorbing costs affiliated with the fundraiser. They are too numerous to name here, but we hope they know how much they mean to our organization.

Thanks, too, to those who worked the individual stops along the route, and to friends of the foundation who fixed baked goods for our riders. A special thanks to our food donors who so generously donated items to our fundraiser to pump up profits.
