No serious injuries in accident

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday on Briery Road in Charlotte County. According to Trooper James Gregory, state police responded to the crash at 2:59 p.m. Two 16-year-olds were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, he said. The driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital while the passenger was transported by private vehicle, Gregory said. Charges are pending against the driver, Gregory said. The accident occurred in the 3000 block of Briery Road about one mile west of Crymes Orchard Road, police said. Volunteers from Meherrin Rescue, Drakes Branch Fire Department and Charlotte County Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
