Congratulations to Jacob and Tina Moore, of Randolph, on the birth of their daughter. She was born Friday at 8:13 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, one ounce. She was 20 inches long. The maternal grandmother is Cindy Inge and the maternal grandfather is Ronnie Jones, of Halifax. The paternal grandfather is Clay Moore, of Saxe, and the paternal grandmother is Jackie Anderson, of Boydton. The great-grandparents are Willard and Gayle Inge, of Saxe.

The Reid/Hall family reunion was held Saturday in Charlotte Court House. Family came from all around Philadelphia, N.Y., N.C., Richmond, Randolph and Charlotte Court House. It was their 29th reunion.

Thought for the Week: I learned to give, not because I have much, but because I know exactly how it feels to have nothing.

Joy

We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them. Count your joys instead of your woes and count your friends instead of your foes. There is no pain so great as the memory of joy in present grief.

There are those who give with joy and that joy is their reward. A thing of beauty is a joy forever. Friendship doubles our joy and divides our grief.
