Mossingford mobile home burns

An old mobile home, believed to be uninhabited, caught fire in Mossingford Thursday at 10:30 p.m., putting surrounding structures at risk, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

The mobile home was fully involved — covered in flames — upon the arrival of both Drakes Branch and Charlotte Court House volunteer fire departments. The units didn’t leave until around 1:30 a.m., and no other structures were affected, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the fire was not provided in the report, but authorities don’t believe any suspicious activity had occurred, according to the sheriff’s office.
