Alberta Dailey Brown, 88, of Red Oak, peacefully returned to her maker on Monday, July 4, 2016 at her home.

Alberta was born in Saxe, Virginia on May 24, 1928 to James and Ethel Dailey. She attended Charlotte County Public Schools and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church. She was employed with Jonbil Manufacturing from 1964-1981.

Alberta’s husband of 63 years, Sherman Brown, preceded her in death August 6, 2013. She is survived by her children, Rose McClyde (James) of Mitchellville, MD, Arnold Brown (Gracie) of Red Oak, VA, Sylvia Brown Johns of Richmond, VA, Ronald Brown (Norma) of Randolph, VA, and Ethel Wynder (Steven) of Huntington, IN; grandchildren, Dave Stovall, Adrian McClyde (Susan), Nedra McClyde, Patrick Johns, Randall Brown (Tammy), Nicole Brown, Benjamin Brown, Ehren Wynder, Kevin Wynder, Betty Brown, Alicia Jennings, Ashley Jennings; three great grandchildren Dasia Stovall, A’vrianna Brown and Ariela Jennings; sisters, Frances Winn and Pattie McCrewell; sisters-in-law, Sarah Dailey, Doris Gibson, Martha Dailey Washington, Virginia Dailey, Eunice Burton, and Bernice Dailey; brothers-in-law, John Giles, Linward Dailey, Milton Dailey, Drewie Dailey and Horace Dailey; numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Rocky Branch Baptist with interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Rocky Branch Baptist Church 2082 Roanoke Station Rd, Red Oak, VA 23964.
