Piedmont Area Veterans Council (PAVC) will hold its first meeting on June 21, at Merk’s Restaurant in Farmville. Meetings are open to the public and any active duty service member, National Guard, Reservist, veteran, service organization, business, nonprofit and individuals are invited to attend. The guest speaker this month is Douglas Eggleston, director of emergency services for the American Red Cross. Meetings begin at 9 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.
