Track competes at Nottoway

The Randolph-Henry High School track team competed in its first track meet of the season at Nottoway on Thursday against Nottoway and Cumberland. This year the track team coaching staff consists of Joe Freeland as the head boys’ coach, Joshua Haskins as the assistant for the girls’ and boys’ and Karen Osborne as the head girls’ coach. 

Kiera Dodd won first place in shot put and discus, Nadya Pettus won first in the 100-meter sprint and second in the 200-meter sprint and Deja White won first in the 3,200-meter event and second in the 1,600-meter event.

Takia Wade won third place in the 1,600-meter event, while Lily Toombs placed fourth in the same event. The 4X100 relay team won first. The team consisted of Nadya Pettus, Melody Scott, Lilyah Stevenson and Anisha Marable.

Chris Powell won second in the 100-meter sprint and third in the 200-meter sprint. Harmon Boyd won third in the 100-meter spring, while Deon Shuford took fourth.

Quadre Pulliam took third in discus, Mirch Dunn followed in fourth in discus and Billy French won third in the high jump. Ryan Craighead placed third in the 1,600-meter event and Devin Brown followed in fourth. Nasheim Pettus won fourth in the 200-meter sprint.

The team’s next meet in on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Nottoway.
