Donna Lynne Simpson, of Drakes Branch, peacefully answered God and His angels on Saturday morning, March 12, 2016 in Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was born on January 14, 1964 to George and Edith Simpson of Drakes Branch.

Donna graduated from Charlotte County Public Schools and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at Virginia Union University in Richmond Virginia. She was a faithful and dedicated counselor at Helton House.

Donna’s great love for her parents, sisters, and family was manifested daily. Her compasion and love for each of us will always be remembered. She leaves to cherish loving memories, her parents, George and Edith Simpson; two sisters, Audrey Simpson of Norfolk, VA and Kimberly Warren (Antonio) of Drakes Branch, VA; devoted niece, Brittney Warren; great niece, Ijayah Warren; great nephew, Aeryk Easter all of Drakes Branch; aunts, Charlotte Gregory and Lenora Gilmore of Drakes Branch; Mazie Washington and Ephenia Pippin of Catonsville, MD and Mary Simpson of  Baltimore, MD; uncles, Louis Gilmore of Drakes Branch, Curtis Gilmore of Jessup, MD and James Simpson of Columbia, MD; fiancee’, Michael Whitehead of Keysville, VA; two devoted colleagues, Tammy High and Rev. Louis Lee; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch with Rev. James E. Goode, officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
